- It all began in a family kitchen in 1916 when Anthony Zanetos began experimenting with candy recipes. The results were so good that he opened his own confectionary in 1926. His son, Thomas, joined the business in 1947. As more people throughout Central Ohio sought out their candy, the men formed The Anthony-Thomas Candy Company in 1952. Four generations of the Zanetos family have contributed to the success of the company that now makes millions of pounds of candy each year.
